The first references to the property are dated from the 18th century and report it to the Majorate of “Casa do Fundão”, Loureira (Vila Verde).
From a historical point of view, Quinta de Luou took its name from the small village of “Luou” where it is located and belongs to the municipality of Ponte de Lima.
Already in 1515, “Fernão de Luou” is mentioned in the charter of Beiral do Lima.
Quinta de Luou is equidistant from Ponte de Lima and Ponte da Barca (8 Km).
